Prayer Shawl Ministry

Prayer Shawl Ministry

The Prayer Shawl members meet Monday mornings, 10:00 am - 12 noon in the Library. They knit or crochet shawls created with many prayers, then distributed to anyone who would benefit from additional comfort with medical challenges, solace, or just a "big hug" with the knowledge that others are praying for them within their parish family. They cannot be bought or sold...simply given with love and prayer.

If you or someone you know, could benefit from a prayer shawl, please contact Sara Shaw - Click Here to Email to join us. You can participate in a group setting, enjoying camaraderie and with formal prayer, or you can work independently in your own home as a meditative process if preferred.

An invitation is extended to anyone interested in learning how to knit/crochet to become a part of the group. Donations are gratefully accepted from any who are unable to participate but would like to be instrumental.

Know Someone In Need of Comfort?

It is our hope that the warmth of a shawl made with prayer & concern for the recipient can bring comfort to others who are ill, grieving, anxious or simply in need of a hug.

To obtain a blessed shawl for yourself, family member or friend from HIOPCC’s Prayer Shawl Ministry, contact Sara Shaw below.
